PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY:

Garrick Farria has extensive experience within the American Labor Movement, working to resolve labor and employment disputes across the United States. Over the course of his professional career, Garrick has worked with two of the largest service based and manufacturing unions in the United States. Garrick has developed experience and understanding of the Labor and Employment Relations field.

He has experience in collective bargaining and union organizing, as well as lobbying, political action, labor management and alternative dispute resolution. In addition to other Labor and Employment Law, he has practical working experience with the National Labor Relations Act, Family and Medical Leave Act disputes, Weingarten rights issues, and the unions Duty of Fair Representation.

Over the years Garrick has served as first and second chair at various collective bargaining negotiation sessions, including first contracts, wage supplements, health care and market density reopeners. He has experience working with claims brought under national and state civil rights and employment laws, including Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Texas Commission of Human Rights Act. Garrick also has practical experience dealing with Occupational Safety and Health Act complaints, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints, and Department of Labor compliance issues.
