Legal Nurse Consultant, Joseph T. Thornton Jr.
Joseph T. Thornton, Jr. is a legal nurse consultant for Dietz Law Firm, and has previously held similar positions with the law firms of Bailey & Galyen and Attorney Roger Walton. Mr. Thornton’s background as a registered nurse includes working in Intensive Care Units, and medical/surgical and operating rooms for several major Texas hospitals.
Additional experience that enhances Mr. Thornton’s expertise as a legal nurse consultant was gained while working for many years at State Farm Insurance. He has held positions as Bodily Injury and Claims Adjuster and Injury Claim Trainer. His work as an Injury Claim Trainer involved training bodily injury adjusters how to read medical reports, interpret medical terms, evaluate injuries and negotiate claims to conclusion.
Mr. Thornton designed and implemented a Medical Management Program in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Mr. Thornton’s outstanding performance as an Injury Claim Trainer led to a special assignment as Staff Assistant in State Farm’s corporate office. There he was responsible for revising and teaching the week-long Injury Supervision Seminar to management personnel from all over the United States. He traveled with the Corporate Medical Management Team throughout the country to provide training to large groups of bodily injury adjusters and managers in order to implement the Medical Management Program in their areas.
